Online harm mitigation and abuse management company CleanDNS announces that Paul Diaz, former Public Interest Registry Vice President of Policy and accomplished industry executive will join the team as Vice President of Engagement.
Paul Diaz is a respected senior executive with over three decades of experience in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, operations and financial management, and analysis. With a background in security and intelligence, as well as a depth of knowledge in domain name industry policy and leadership, Diaz joins the CleanDNS team as of September 2024.
For the past 13 years, Diaz has been Vice President of Policy at Public Interest Registry (PIR), the global operator of the .ORG top-level domain. During his time at PIR, Diaz was responsible for policy development, domain name and cybersecurity industry relations, and related governance functions. He has served as Registry Stakeholder Group chair, vice chair of the ICANN Nominating Committee, and on numerous cross-community working groups.
Prior to his time at PIR, Diaz spent over 12 years at Network Solutions, the original domain name registrar, where he led ICANN-related policy development and regularly briefed U.S. congress, U.S. Executive branch agencies, and ICANN on key issues. Initially coming from a background in security and cyber analysis, Diaz previously worked with the Central Intelligence Agency focused on key Latin America accounts.
