Operant Networks Inc., a leading provider of Data-Centric networking and cybersecurity, announced today at the RE+ conference their new Multi-Party Trust solution addressing industry and regulatory challenges surrounding secure remote access to field assets.

Building upon Operant's existing software platform, which is now deployed on over 10GW of power generation assets, Multi Party Trust (MPT) came from customer demands for control over who should be allowed to access equipment on remote facilities.

Responding to this need, Operant CEO, Keith Rose, proudly unveiled Multi- Party Trust. “MPT makes it simple for customers to grant service providers, OEMs, and other third-parties access to specified devices, using designated protocols, for limited time periods, with advanced security and a streamlined process”.

Developed as an extension of a three-year Department of Energy research project, Multi-Party Trust was created for the evolving landscape of distributed renewables and the unique access requirements of the stakeholders involved. "Distributed renewables represent a new era of complex communication architectures among industrial systems, leveraging technologies such as cloud and Machine Learning.

The average renewable facility now involves five or more stakeholders seeking access to vital equipment and data from the field. However, existing solutions have proven to be cumbersome and difficult to implement, leading to inadequate economic returns for our customers," expressed Randy King, Operant CTO.
