Operant Networks, a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions to the power generation industry, announced last week they have hit a major milestone as expressed by Operant CEO, Keith Rose, “We are incredibly grateful to our customers for trusting us as the primary network to over 10GW of power generation facilities. This milestone is a testament to our commitment of providing the highest level of cybersecurity and reliability for the future electric grid.”
Operant is hoping to go well beyond power plants, “Since launching Operant, we realized that other critical infrastructure markets such as: manufacturing and transportation, are undergoing similar changes with regards to adopting modern technologies, like public cloud and Artificial Intelligence. Although it makes complete sense from an economic perspective; it also creates a scenario with massive amounts of data moving around and different stakeholders accessing it. Somewhat of a perfect storm from a cybersecurity perspective,” commented Rose.
Operant is planning on announcing their next big product launch at the nation’s largest energy conference, RE+ in Las Vegas this upcoming September. For more information, please contact [email protected]
Operant was founded in 2016 by experts from both the renewable and telecommunication industries, to secure distributed renewables systems that often communicate via the Internet. In 2021, a study published by the U.S Department of Energy, referred to Operant’s technology as potentially ‘game changing’ with regards to enabling the electric grid’s transition to distributed renewables while at the same time protecting national security.
