SonicWall on Wednesday announced the acquisition of Banyan Security, a secure service edge technology provider to help protect remote work environments.
SonicWall said the acquisition furthers its strategy of providing a portfolio of security options as businesses shift to cloud computing and conduct work in hybrid environments.
“SonicWall is in a unique position to provide its partners and customers with a suite of solutions that tackles these challenges to provide [a] consistent security environment for all users, be they in the office or remote,” said Bob VanKirk, president and CEO of SonicWall.
SonicWall is expanding its portfolio of products to include a cloud offering by adding security service edge, which includes zero trust network access and other security features to help address modern requirements.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
SonicWall in November acquired a firm called Solutions Granted Inc., which provides managed detection and response technology to managed service providers and managed security service providers.
The agreement comes amid months of turbulence in the information security industry. High inflation and economic recession fears led numerous companies to slash expenses and layoff workers, particularly in the technology sector.
The cybersecurity industry was also impacted by the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank last year, which helped develop funding sources for many security providers.
