Ransomware steadily graduated from a consumer-like threat, to one that brings the largest enterprises to their knees.
It can make a victim out of any organization, no matter how big or small. "Every industry that we track has seen an increase in ransomware attacks," said Allan Liska, senior security architect at Recorded Future.
In a international health crisis ripe with economic volatility, ransomware attacks have remained persistent. As smaller organizations, hospitals, municipalities and school districts are strapped for time and resources, ransomware found a niche market, etching away the security on critical infrastructure.
